Floor heating system installation in a new construction project

Floor heating systems such as BEKOTEC-THERM have long been standard in new construction projects. And for good reason: It provides cosy warmth all over the house, is energy efficient and is optimally compatible with renewable energy sources.

Comfort and energy efficiency- A perfect fit-

Floor heating systems are extremely popular, especially in new construction projects: their radiant heat provides a cosy feeling and requires low supply temperatures. This is environmentally friendly and saves heating costs. The BEKOTEC-THERM water-based floor heating system satisfies all these requirements - in every room: from the living room, bedroom and children's room as well as the kitchen and bathroom.

BEKOTEC-THERM: innovative floor heating system for your energy-conscious home

The heating of the future is invisible and energy-efficient. It provides cosy radiant heat all over the house and helps conserve resources. The water-based Schlüter-BEKOTEC-THERM floor heating system fulfills all these requirements. With low supply temperatures, it responds particularly quickly and energy-efficiently. It takes advantage of the excellent heat conductivity and thermal storage capacity of ceramic tiles or natural store pavers. Thanks to the particularly low structure, even parquet and laminate are heated quickly as the heat quickly reaches the surface where it is evenly distributed. Plus: In summer, you can set the system to cooling operation via your heating control and, depending on the heat source, use active or passive cooling.

The savings of the system begin at the time of installation: The system not only consumes substantially fewer valuable resources such as sand, water or cement, but also cures several weeks faster than conventional floor heating systems. Thanks to BEKOTEC-THERM, building owners can move in earlier – and save their wallets as well as the environment.

Schlüter-BEKOTEC-THERM is an ideal heating solution for operation with renewable energy sources. It works especially well in combination with heat pumps. The floor heating system guarantees even heat distribution and can be operated at low supply temperatures. Since heat pumps are especially efficient in low temperature ranges, the combination optimises the capabilities of this technology.

This results in permanently low operating costs – among other factors, by lowering the heating system temperature at night – and guarantees a faster return on investment. The low supply temperatures in combination with a heat pump offer optimum energy yield over the entire heating period.

In combination with a heat pump, a real-world scientific study carried out by the renowned Institute for Building Systems Engineering Research and Application (ITG) in Dresden proved that BEKOTEC-THERM can save up to 9.5 percent energy annually compared to conventional floor heating systems.

Good to know: As numerous references and field reports confirm, BEKOTEC-THERM is also a very good choice for retrofitting in existing buildings. This means you do not need bulky radiators along the walls, which saves you space, time and above all, lots of money.

Suitable BEKOTEC-THERM systems for new construction projects

A tried-and-tested system. Five product variants. Many installation variations: BEKOTEC-THERM can be flexibly adapted to individual requirements. For installation in new construction projects, three solutions with different assembly heights are ideally suited:

Cosy warmth in minutes: An electric floor and wall heating system can quickly generate a pleasant temperature in any space. Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-E is easy to operate and impresses with short heating times and economical operation. It makes optimum use of the heat conductivity and thermal storage capacity of ceramic tiles or natural store pavers. The system also acts as a standards-compliant bonded waterproofing – in bathrooms, for example – and can even ensure a reduction in impact sound transmission of up to 13 decibels.

Eye-catchers with added value

Sometimes modern and metropolitan, sometimes traditional and homely: no two new construction projects are ever the same. But what connects so many people? Our BEKOTEC-THERM water-based floor heating system ensures the most cosy living and working conditions.

What does the house of the future look like? Possibly just like the ‘Moonstone Project’ that blends harmoniously into the picturesque landscape of the English Cotswolds. The house was designed as a "positive energy house" that generates more energy than it actually requires and is entirely self-sufficient, proving just how aspirational and sustainable house construction can be. And that without sacrificing any comfort. BEKOTEC-THERM ceramic thermal comfort floor is making an important contribution to this concept as an energy-efficient floor heating system.

Best possible ambience in the new showroom: Wilhelm Linnenbecker GmbH & Co. KG in Hanover uses BEKOTEC-THERM inside the showroom. For the new construction of this branch, water-based floor heating systems from Schlüter-Systems were used across an area of around 500 square metres. The quick and uncomplicated installation was also an advantage as was the high load-bearing capacity of the floor construction.
