Quick and individual installation – for targeted heat

The three major components of our electric floor heating system are: DITRA-HEAT mat with special studded structure, thermostat and heating cable . Installation is intuitive:: the heating cables are individually installed between the studs of the mat and embedded directly with tile adhesive. Consequently, they are positioned directly under the floor covering so that the heat reaches it efficiently. The low installation height is a practical feature for new constructions and the renovation of existing buildings.

Like the original, the self-adhesive version of the studded mat also serves as a solid base for installing the energy-saving electric heating system. But, in comparison, DITRA-HEAT-PS (PS = Peel & Stick) can be installed even more easily and neatly: simply peel off the protective membrane on the underside and glue the studded mat to the adhesive-friendly, dust-free substrate – such as old floor coverings, for example. The self-adhesive anchoring fleece eliminates the need to apply additional tile adhesive during Installation. That saves material, time and money. All other functions of the proven DITRA-HEAT mat remain unchanged.

Thanks to thin-set technology, the electric floor heating system also works in places where the use of water-carrying systems is not structurally possible. The mat also impresses with functions that are indispensable for high-quality tile and natural stone coverings: it protects against permeating moisture, substrate cracks are not transferred into the covering, direct load transfer as well as neutralising uncoupling guarantee long-lasting pleasure of floor and wall coverings made of ceramic or natural stone. Also effectively reduces impact sound by up to 9 dB.

And because the system is certified as a bonded waterproofing system, it can be used in bathrooms and other wet rooms. This means you have warm feet even in the shower or when brushing your teeth at the vanity.

DITRA-HEAT-DUO has proven to be the ideal solution where heat is required quickly and for a short time. Especially in a bathroom, which is only used at certain hours in the morning and at night, a system is required that reacts at lightning speed and offers maximum efficiency. In well-defined comfort zones, for example in front of the vanity, cosy, warm areas are created in just moments.

The additional fleece with a thickness of just 2 mm functions as a thermal barrier: more than 80 percent of the heat is channeled directly toward the top into the floor covering during the heat-up phase. This leads to a noticeably faster and more energy-saving heating effect.

The fleece component of the uncoupling mat improves not only the heat-up response, but also ensures a significant reduction in impact sound transfer. An independent testing institute has certified an impact sound reduction of up to 13 dB for the uncoupling mat.
