Efficient floor heating system for the lobby of a Frankfurt landmark

During the renovation of the lobby in the striking Messeturm in Frankfurt, also known as the "Jahn Tower", the energy-efficient Schlüter-BEKOTEC-THERM floor heating system was installed on an area of around 1,100 square metres – without interrupting business operations. The area on which the thin-layer system was to be set up was divided into four sections that were completed within a few days.

During the renovation, the Schlüter-BEKOTEC-THERM floor heating system was installed. The low assembly height of the product was particularly important, because there wasn't much space available.

Contractors took advantage of the system's many benefits. "The shallow assembly height of the product was particularly important since there was little space to install the heating system, screed and the desired ceramic tiles." explained Steffen Hein, Managing Director of HG-Fußbodensysteme. BEKOTEC-THERM can also shorten construction times by several weeks – an unbeatable advantage for a project such as the Messeturm. In combination with the system's DITRA bonded uncoupling mat, installers created a consistent, largely joint-free surface covering with large-format natural stone coverings and adjacent parquet. The new assembly not only offers modern technology and visual appeal – the owners can also look forward to considerable energy savings.

With a fully renovated lobby area and the "M Tower" business restaurant on the ground level, also upgraded with BEKOTEC-THERM, the Messeturm is again ready to welcome its visitors in elegant, cosmopolitan style.
