Bathroom in Dan Schelle's home

Residential house impressively presented with illuminated profile technology

"I like it to be nice" is the simple and convincing reply from tiler Dan Schelle to the question of why he installed Schlüter-LIPROTEC illuminated profile technology in his house. Not just in the bathroom, but throughout the house. "I have come to greatly appreciate the many possibilities that the light profiles offer for interior design or for setting individual accents, and I enjoy using them accordingly", explained the owner of the specialist tiling company of the same name.

Schelle has installed a total of more than 80 metres of light profiles – all fitted with RGB+W light strips that can display more than 16 million colours and shades of white in various temperatures. Whether up the staircase that is illuminated by two impressive wall panels, in the kitchen where illuminated niches frame the kitchen cupboards, or in the living room: visitors encounter attractive light installations in every room.

Main lighting in a myriad of colours and temperatures

In the living room, Schelle has not only installed an impressive illuminated wall panel – the ceiling is also fitted with the light profiles. And even as main lighting, as Dan Schelle emphasises: "The light strips produce a very good light output, which is often more than sufficient for me as main lighting. The RGB+W light strips in particular can perfectly provide both bright light and warm atmospheric lighting, depending on what you prefer at the time."

Schlüter-LIPROTEC also provides the sole lighting in the main bathroom. Schelle has installed a LIPROTEC-LLE profile there at an angle of 45°, which emits light obliquely into the room. The combination with other lighting accents, such as a wall panel or an illuminated bath skirting, means that no additional light sources are required here. With these and many other applications of the illuminated profile technology, Dan Schelle has ensured that the lighting ambiance in the entire house can be controlled as required. In combination with the Schlüter-BEKOTEC-THERM ceramic thermal comfort floor, this results in living comfort at the highest level.

Individual light design made easy.

Schlüter-LIPROTEC makes it easier than ever to create individual light concepts with ceramic or natural stone surfaces. Whether illuminated niches, stepped edges, bath tubs, kitchen units, shelves or wall panels, either vertical or horizontal – Schlüter illuminated profile technology lets you design living spaces entirely according to your personal ideas.

The LIPROTEC series are named in accordance with the previous knowledge of the processor: Whereas the EASY series is a plug-and-play system that requires only limited expertise in light installation, the PRO series is designed for professional installers who have experience in light installation and wiring. And finally, Schlüter-LIPROTEC-PLAN provides all the information that professional (light) designers need to create and implement accent lighting with LIPROTEC.
