Create the barrier-free bathroom of your dreams for multiple generations with a stylish shower and practical shelf spaces.
Whether you are planning for a bathroom or wet room as part of a new construction or renovation project, Schlüter-Systems offers you everything you need for preparing and protecting tiles or natural stone during installation.
An efficient drainage system ensures that a bathroom or wet room is safe to use and remains permanently mould-free. For floor-level showers, the tiling or natural stone surface must have a sufficient slope to allow for appropriate drainage. This can be implemented quickly and easily with our waterproof and ready-to-tile Schlüter-KERDI-SHOWER sloped trays. This system solution for floor-level showers also includes our shower profiles from the Schlüter-SHOWERPROFILE range, which can be used to neatly cover adjacent tile edges exposed by the slope.
To complete the drainage solution, you can choose between the Schlüter-KERDI-DRAIN point drain, which provides a central drainage point for the water, and the Schlüter-KERDI-LINE line drain, which allows for central, offset or peripheral installation. Both versions are available with various covers made of stainless steel or with a frameless cover holder that is virtually invisible after tiling. Furthermore, with Schlüter-KERDI-LINE-VARIO we offer a highly flexible system for elegant linear drainage – exclusively in combination with two timeless and classy design profiles.
The connection between the drain and its surroundings is a potential weak point during installation if it is not properly sealed. The great thing about our systems is that all components are designed to match, resulting in a long-lasting and waterproof installation.
The planning and design of wellness areas – be they large or small – requires carefully considering the purposes for which they are to be used.
Steam baths or steam showers are both luxurious and therapeutic and offer you the opportunity to relax. To ensure that this luxury lasts for a long time, it is important that the tiling is well protected against moisture. Since water occurs in both liquid and vapour form, steam rooms or steam showers must be thoroughly sealed to prevent mould growth and water damage. This challenge is even greater in commercial environments such as spas, where extreme conditions are present, with high levels of heat, steam and humidity developing throughout the day. The Schlüter-KERDI-DS waterproofing membrane was specially developed to withstand water and steam under extreme conditions and is therefore the ideal solution for private and commercial steam showers.
Such spaces must be designed to be functionally flawless above all else, but that design can certainly also be creative and inspiring – for example, by integrating free-standing, curved walls or design features such as seats and foot spas into the overall tile design. Barrier-free showers are becoming more and more popular: access steps and shower trays with high edges are a thing of the past; nowadays, showers are seamlessly integrated into the bathroom thanks easy-access, floor-level designs. Ideal for all stages of life of a growing family or for anyone who wants to future-proof their home. The lack of steps or shower enclosures opens up the shower area to the rest of the bathroom, which also makes the entire space easier to clean and maintain.
In barrier-free showers, the area exposed to moisture is not limited to the shower itself, making it difficult to separate "wet areas" from "dry areas". Therefore, all of the bathroom must be sufficiently protected against water and moisture. The KERDI product range includes waterproofing membranes as well as sealing tapes and collars for all areas that are difficult to protect, such as protruding pipes and corners.
Schlüter-DECO-SG is a U-shaped profile made of anodised aluminium in which glass elements can be inserted to create clever and elegant shower enclosures.
Schlüter-SHOWERPROFILE-WS/-WSK is a two-part profile made of anodised aluminium that serves as a splashguard in floor-level showers. The flexible sealing lip straightens up on its own after being stepped on or driven over by a wheelchair.
Drainage is also an important aspect. Take a look at our system solutions for different shower drains in the top section.
By drilling through existing tile coverings to fit shelves and accessories, you will damage both your tile covering and the waterproofing behind it. We offer additional elements that eliminate the need for drilling and still provide valuable storage space or functional benefits.
Our diverse Schlüter-SHELF range includes several variants that can be fitted in a corner, as well as an option that can be installed anywhere in the wall area if it matches the joint. Installation is simple as no drilling is required and the shelf is integrated directly into the joint with sealing compound. One advantage of the corner version is its versatility – the shelves can be retrofitted, making it possible to modernise the bathroom easily without having to make major changes to it.
Schlüter-ARCLINE offers a range of profiles equipped with high-quality accessories such as towel hooks, toilet paper holders and toilet brushes. The accessories can be positioned in special profiles without drilling and can thus be adapted or replaced at any time.
When shower fixtures are installed above a bath, the area must be treated with the same moisture management measures as any other tiled shower. Wall cavities must be protected from water and vapour penetration, and the waterproofing on the walls must be effectively sealed to the edge of the bath to avoid potential leaks and mould growth.
Silicone is a standard feature nowadays in a bathroom, but it can peel and crack as a result of cleaning and general day-to-day use. Designed to target the tricky area where a bath (or shower tray edge) meets the tiling, Schlüter-KERDI-TS provides an extra line of defence should the silicone fail, and water threaten to seep through to the wall behind. Installed behind the tile, this product incorporates three distinct parts which create a reliable waterproof connection: KERDI fleece membrane, a fleece-free zone for the adhesion of KERDI-FIX elastic sealant adhesive, and a self-adhesive sound insulation strip that attaches to the edge of the bath or shower tray.
Instead of using silicone, joints can also be covered with the maintenance-free connection profile, Schlüter-DILEX-AS, for easy cleaning and sleek finishing.
