The "Bretterbude" hotel, which opened in the northern German town of Büsum at the end of 2022, stands out from the coastal resort with its unique interior design concept: it looks like it's divided up into small houses and has included all kinds of board sports into the design of the outdoor and indoor areas as well as the rooms. It relies entirely on efficient edge protection from Schlüter-Systems.
In the planning and execution of the staircases, the owner and architect opted for ceramic tile flooring. The Schlüter-TREP-E stainless steel profile has been used to safely finish off the step edges and ensure the necessary slip resistance. "The product offers a special, anti-slip profiling that helps ensure the safety of guests at all times, especially in the commercial construction sector, even with high footfall", explains architect Thomas Ladehoff.
As personalised as the design of the rooms – known as "Butzen" (Engl. "Berths") in the Bretterbude – is, they all have one thing in common: The bathrooms have tile edges that are fitted with the popular Schlüter-QUADEC-E profile. The stainless steel profile forms an attractive, rectangular outer corner and provides reliable protection against damage from mechanical impact.
And even in the very busy hotel kitchen, Schlüter profiles provide secure edge protection: The V4A stainless steel of Schlüter-ECK-E ensures that the corners of the wall always remain free of damage – even when things get hot.
