What this product does
Schlüter-DILEX-EZ 70 is a special profile made of combined rigid/soft PVC for use in screed installation. The profile is suitable for creating stress relief joints in floor coverings made of ceramic tile, natural stone, brick or agglomerate pavers over screed mortar beds. The profile with a height of 70 mm can be adjusted to the relevant assembly height by cutting off individual profile segments.
The installation of DILEX-EZ 70 divides the mortar bed and the covering into approved size to avoid uncontrolled cracks. The soft PVC section in the centre absorbs compressive stresses caused by mortar bed expansion.
Since the profile does not have lateral frictional anchoring in the mortar bed, it is not suited for absorbing any tensile stresses that may be present. The lateral sections of the profile are made of rigid PVC and protect the edges of the adjacent coverings from mechanical stresses caused by conveyor vehicles, subject to the limited mechanical suitability of PVC profiles in edge protection.
How to install this product
- Schlüter-DILEX-EZ 70 can be adjusted to the relevant assembly height by cutting off individual profile segments.
- Set the profile flush against the edge area of a previously completed tile covering. The lateral parts of DILEX-EZ 70 must be solidly embedded in the mortar.
- Install the adjacent tile covering flush against the profile. The lateral parts of DILEX-EZ 70 must be solidly embedded in the mortar.
- Fill the remaining joint space between the profile and the covering completely with grout.
What this product is made from
Schlüter-DILEX-EZ combines rigid PVC lateral sections connected at the top and bottom with surfaces made of soft PVC. The top connection also forms the visible surface. The bottom part consists of removable profile segments made of soft PVC. The top lateral parts feature undercut bonding structures.
Material properties and areas of application
The material is resistant to the chemical stresses that are typically associated with tile coverings.
DILEX-EZ 70 is installed as a stress relief profile in tile and paver coverings set into a mortar bed. The profile separates the individual installation segments of the covering and absorbs compressive stresses in its soft PVC movement zone.
In special cases, the suitability of the profile must be verified based on the anticipated chemical, mechanical, and/or other stresses.
Maintenance & Care
How to look after this product
Schlüter-DILEX-EZ 70 is resistant to fungi and bacteria and requires no special maintenance or care. The profile can be cleaned with regular household detergents when cleaning the tile covering.
