In the heart of Somerset lies The Newt Hotel and Spa, a stunning country estate. Consisting of Hadspen House, The Farmyard and Barton Spa, each area plays host to a different setting, whether hotel rooms, a spa area or dining. Schlüter products were used across the three areas, ensuring the spaces could be enjoyed by guests for years to come.
Situated in Richmond, Surrey and overlooking the River Thames, the Petersham Hotel undertook a refurbishment of the Tower suite to ensure an unforgettable visit alongside the equally picturesque views. Tile and stone protection experts Schlüter-Systems were on hand to provide a level entry system solution for the bathroom of this stunning area of the hotel.
A popular destination for weddings and other grand events, the hotel is renowned for its second-to-none hospitality and guest experience. A main aim of the bathroom project was to ensure the use of a full system from a single manufacturer for warranty guarantees and to create a seamless and simple solution. This is where Schlüter’s expertise came in, offering a full waterproofing system and underfloor heating throughout the bathroom floor.
The walls were prepared with the popular tile backerboard Schlüter-KERDI-BOARD. Using this substrate alongside sealing products Schlüter-KERDI-KERECK and Schlüter-KERDI-COLL made easy work of creating a tanked waterproofing system.
Electrical underfloor heating system Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-E was installed throughout the floor, giving guests warm feet and creating a sense of comfort within the suite.
For the shower area, the U-shaped profile Schlüter-DECO-SG aided in the sleek addition of a glass shower screen without penetrating the waterproofing components. This meant that style and substance were both achieved effortlessly.
Alongside using many products which will make a notable difference beneath the tiles, one of Schlüter’s shelves in brushed stainless steel added a finishing touch within the shower area. Matching this shelf with linear drain grate Schlüter-KERDI-LINE in the CURVE design meant there was a feeling of uniformity within the fixtures. These two elements also paired perfectly with the textured dark grey tiles to allow for subtlety and style.
Creating an oasis of wellness to go alongside the luxury of the Tower suite was achieved with the help of Schlüter and their innovative solutions.
Schlüter-Systems supported Lilly Lewarne Architects in the design and specification of the Aqua Club, a stunning swimming and wellness centre with specialist waterproofing products at the Headland Hotel.
