Schlüter-SHOWERPROFILE-S  Two-piece triangular profile for floor-level showers

Discover our system solutions for floor-level showers with linear drainage! One element of the two-piece Schlüter-SHOWERPROFILE-S triangular profile is made in V4A stainless steel, with a choice of brushed or high-quality powder coating on the visible surface, with a 2% slope, with which the sloped edges of a floor-level shower can be reliably covered. A fleece fabric is attached to the underside of this profile for bonding with the tile adhesive.

The second part of the SHOWERPROFILE-S is a matching rigid PVC support profile in rigid PVC featuring a U shaped attachment channel and is available in different heights. You can easily adjust the height of the shower profile as needed by cutting the extra-long triangular profile on the lower and/or upper side. The triangular profile can be used to the left or right of the floor transition or below the tiles of a lateral wall.

General product information

What this product does

Schlüter-SHOWERPROFILE-S is a two-piece triangular profile for covering the sloped edges that result from the creation of a shower floor with a 2% slope for linear drainage. The triangular profile, in V4A stainless steel and available with either a brushed finish or a high-quality powder coating, has a fleece fabric laminated on the reverse side for bonding with the tile adhesive and is inserted into the U-shaped groove of the support profile in rigid PVC. The profile can be used as a lateral wall transition or as a lateral transition to the adjoining floor.

The PVC support profile is available in 6 heights to match the thickness of the shower floor coverings, from 3 mm to 22 mm. The triangular profiles, which are supplied in oversize lengths of 120 cm to 200 cm, have a height of 6 or 10 mm on the low side (H1) and feature a slope of 2% (= a rise of 2 mm per 10 cm length).

The profile is shortened on the lower and/or upper side to obtain the required profile height and length. The height can be further varied by inserting the profile to a greater or lesser degree into the U-shaped groove.

How to install this product

  1. Cut the support profile to the required length, press the trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg firmly into the adhesive already applied and align it.
  2. Measure the required length and height of the triangular profile (front: lower side, back: upper side). Remember to take the insertion depth into the U-shaped groove into account.
  3. Cut the triangular profile to the necessary length for the required height to be obtained.

Note: By shortening on the narrow and/or wide profile sides, the required height can be cut out from the over-long profile. Once the triangular profile is cut to size, apply tile adhesive to its underside. Then insert it into the U-shaped support profile, press it home and align flush with the floor or wall. Remove the protective foil prior to installation.

What this product is made from

Schlüter-SHOWERPROFILE-S is available in the following materials and finishes:

  • EB = brushed stainless steel (V4A, material no. 1.4404 = AISI 316L)
  • TS = V4A stainless steel with textured coating

The profiles have a fleece fabric laminated on their rear faces for bonding with the tile adhesive. The SHOWERPROFILE-S support profile is made in recycled rigid PVC. The visible surface of the profile is covered with a protective foil.

Material properties and areas of application

It is important to check the suitability of the profiles in terms of the anticipated chemical or mechanical stresses. SHOWERPROFILE-S in V4A stainless steel (material no. 1.4404 = AISI 316L) is especially suitable for applications requiring resistance to chemical exposure and high mechanical stresses. Even stainless steel of 1.4404 quality is not resistant to all chemical stresses, and may be affected by hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid or by certain chloride and brine concentrations, which may be present in cleaning agents or in swimming pools. Suitability for particular anticipated stresses should therefore be clarified in advance.

How to look after this product

Schlüter-SHOWERPROFILE-S requires no special maintenance or care. Dirt can be removed when the covering is cleaned, using appropriate cleaning agents. The visible surfaces of the profiles can be polished to a shine with commercial chrome-polishing products. Stainless steel surfaces exposed to the environment or aggressive substances should be cleaned periodically using a mild household cleaner.

Regular cleaning not only maintains the neat appearance of the stainless steel, but also reduces the risk of corrosion.

All cleaning agents must be free of hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid. Avoid contact with other metals, such as ordinary steel, to prevent corrosion. This also includes installation tools such as trowels or steel wool, e.g. for removing mortar residue. Abrasive cleaning agents should not be used on sensitive surfaces. We recommend the use of Schlüter-CLEAN-CP stainless steel cleaning polish.
