Schlüter-Systems Introduces KERDI-LINE-TF: Protecting Tiles Without Compromising Design

Schlüter-Systems has expanded its linear drainage portfolio with the launch of Schlüter-KERDI-LINE-TF, a new tileable grate designed to address a common challenge in tiled shower and bathroom floors: damage to tile edges during routine cleaning and maintenance.

When tile-covered grates are removed for access to drainage channels, both the tile within the grate and the adjacent floor tiles can be susceptible to chipping. KERDI-LINE-TF has been specifically developed to help protect these vulnerable tile edges, combining long-term durability with a discreet, minimalist appearance.

Featuring a slim frame manufactured from high-grade V4A stainless steel, KERDI-LINE-TF securely houses a tile insert while protecting both the tile within the grate and the surrounding floor finish. The result is a drainage solution that not only preserves the appearance of the installation over time but also simplifies maintenance.

The innovative two-part design allows the tile insert to be removed and reinstalled easily for cleaning, while the surrounding stainless-steel frame helps prevent damage that can occur during repeated access to the drainage channel. Smooth, easy-to-clean surfaces further support long-term hygiene and maintenance.

In many ways, KERDI-LINE-TF reflects Schlüter-Systems' long-standing heritage of tile edge protection. Just as Schlüter-SCHIENE was originally developed to protect exposed tile edges, KERDI-LINE-TF applies the same principle within a tiled drainage system, safeguarding tiles in one of the most frequently accessed areas of the installation.

Alongside its practical benefits, KERDI-LINE-TF delivers a clean, understated aesthetic. The tile insert blends seamlessly into the surrounding floor finish, creating a discreet drainage solution that complements contemporary bathroom and shower designs.

Fully compatible with all KERDI-LINE channel bodies featuring an integrated KERDI collar, the new grate option offers flexibility for both designers and installers. It is available in three heights for floor coverings from 6 mm to 20 mm and in eight lengths ranging from 500 mm to 1,200 mm, making it suitable for a wide variety of residential, hospitality and commercial applications.
