Schlüter-Systems’ Continued Support for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People
At Schlüter-Systems, giving back has always been about more than fundraising, it’s about supporting causes that make a genuine difference to families in our local community. One charity that holds a particularly special place within our business is Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People in Loughborough, which has been caring for children with serious or terminal illnesses, and the people who love them most, for over three decades. The hospice provides specialist care to hundreds of families each year, helping to brighten short lives and offering vital support wherever families need it – whether at the hospice or in their own homes.
Fundraising efforts here at Schlüter are led by Training Manager Andrew Curry, who works closely with Rainbows and regularly visits the hospice to personally hand over donations on behalf of the team. Most recently, Andrew shared an update that since 2017, the company has proudly raised close to £6500 for the charity – something we are really proud of!
During the week commencing 2nd December, Rainbows took part in Big Give, a multi-organisation fundraising initiative where all donations were doubled. Schlüter-Systems was delighted to contribute £650, raised through the sale of furniture and showroom items. Thanks to the Big Give initiative, this donation was matched, bringing the total to £1300.
In addition, the Schlüter-Systems charity breakfast raised a further £750, bringing the overall total from these recent efforts to an impressive £2050.
Speaking on the impact of the donations, Rainbows shared:
“Your donation helps us to provide specialist palliative and end of life care to hundreds of families at home, in hospital or at the hospice.”
Andrew Curry commented on the achievement:
“This is something we should all be incredibly proud of. The generosity shown by the Schlüter UK team – including those who donated despite being unable to attend the charity breakfast – truly highlights the importance of this day and what it represents.”
Schlüter-Systems would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the management team for their continued support of these initiatives, as well as to every colleague who has contributed over the years. As the company looks ahead, it remains firmly committed to supporting Rainbows Children’s Hospice, with further initiatives and activities planned throughout the year that colleagues and partners can look forward to hearing more about. Together, we will continue striving to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and families who need it most.
