Schlüter-ECK-KHK  Cove-shaped profile for retrofit installation

Schlüter-ECK-KHK is a cove-shaped, stainless steel corner profile that is retrofitted to the internal corners of tiled walls or other wall coverings. It covers damage and poorly constructed internal corners, eliminating the need for rework.

Schlüter-ECK-KHK is especially suitable for hospitals, industrial kitchens, washrooms and food processing plants where aesthetic appeal is desired in addition to suitability for easy cleaning.

Matching accessories for the ECK-KHK profile type include internal and external corners as well as connectors.

General product information

How to install this product

  1. Adhere Schlüter-ECK-KHK to finished wall corners with the installation adhesive Schlüter-KERDI-FIX or an equivalent material. Apply a bead of adhesive to the back of the profile anchoring legs before pushing them onto the edge or corner of the wall covering so the lateral edges make solid contact. Remove any substances that may inhibit bonding, such as grease, prior to applying the installation adhesive.
  2. Remove any excess adhesive that has squeezed out from underneath the profile anchoring legs with a suitable cleaning product.
  3. Then remove the protective film.

What this product is made from

Schlüter-ECK-KHK is available in the following materials:

  • E = stainless steel
    • V2A, material no. 1.4301 = AISI 304

The visible surfaces of the profile are covered with a protective film.

Material properties and areas of application

The suitability of the proposed profile types must be verified based on the anticipated chemical, mechanical and/or other stresses.

ECK-KHK is made of roll formed V2A stainless steel (material no. 1.4301). It is particularly well suited for applications that, in addition to heavy mechanical stresses, require resistance to chemicals such as acidic or alkaline media and detergents. Even stainless steel is not resistant to all chemical stresses. Substances such as hydrochloric or hydrofluoric acid or certain chloride and brine concentrations may cause damage. In certain cases, this also applies to seawater pools. Special anticipated stresses should therefore be verified in advance.

How to look after this product

Schlüter-ECK-KHK requires no special maintenance or care. The profile can be cleaned along with the tile covering, using suitable detergents.

To obtain a bright finish on the visible surface of the profile, use a chrome polishing agent or similar. Stainless steel surfaces exposed to the environment or aggressive substances should be cleaned periodically using a mild household cleaner. Regular cleaning not only maintains the neat appearance of stainless steel, but also reduces the risk of corrosion. All cleaning agents must be free of hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid.

Avoid contact with other metals, such as regular steel, to prevent corrosion. This also includes installation tools such as trowels or steel wool, e.g. for the removal of mortar residue.

We recommend the use of the stainless steel cleaning polish Schlüter-CLEAN-CP.
