Schlüter-BARA-RTP  Balcony edge support profile for retrofitting

Schlüter-BARA-RTP is attached to the front of the exposed edges on balconies and terraces via bolts, 5 mm in diameter, that are placed at approximately 50 cm intervals.

The front anchoring leg of BARA-RTP features a T-shaped profile chamber at the bottom edge for attaching the gutter system Schlüter-BARIN using self-tapping screws. The elongated holes in the Schlüter-BARIN gutter system allow for attaching the gutters at a slope.

1. To fasten the Schlüter-BARA-RTP edge profile, drill holes, 8 mm in diameter, into the front edge of the floor covering at approximately 50 cm intervals. To align with the holes provided in the profile, BARA-RTP can be placed against the front edge and used as a drilling template.
2. After inserting the anchors, the BARA-RTP edge profile should be fastened with Schlüter-RTPS 540 special bolts. To ensure solid contact of BARA-RTP to the front edge of the covering assembly, it is advisable to fill the rear ribs of the edging profile with dry-set mortar first.
3. Once BARA-RTP has been mounted, the Schlüter-BARIN gutter system can be attached at the required slope. To do this, fasten the vertically adjustable BARA-RTP gutter support profile to the BARA-RTP edge profile. The elongated holes allow for attaching the gutters at a slope.

Note: Prefabricated corners and connectors are available to create internal and external corners. Abut the profile ends of BARA-RTP with a joint of approx. 5 mm and conceal the joint by gluing on connectors.

Schlüter-BARA-RTP is made of colour-coated aluminium.

Material properties and areas of application

The coating of the aluminium profiles is colour-stable, as well as UV- and weather-resistant. Visible surfaces should be protected against abrasion.

In special cases, the suitability of BARA-RTP must be verified based on the anticipated chemical and mechanical stresses.
