Schlüter-REMA is a system for creating concealed access panels in tiled walls.

Schlüter-REMA can be applied irrespective of tile size and thickness and aligns the access panel perfectly to the joint pattern. Panels that access electrical or plumbing components, for example, do not therefore spoil the visual appearance of the tiles.

1. Adhere the tile magnets to the back of the wall tile with tile adhesive. The magnets must fully extend over the edge of the tile into the opening.
2. Set the wall tiles with the adhered magnets at the edges of the opening so that four magnets protrude into the opening.
3. Use silicone to adhere the counter-plates to the back of the cover, matching the position of the magnets. For larger openings, create a cover from the respective number of tiles by joining them with a tile bonded to the rear.
4. Once the silicone has properly cured, set the cover panel in place and close the perimeter joint with sealant compound in a matching colour.

The REMA installation set comprises four aluminium angle pieces with integrated attachment clamps for accommodating the magnets with lateral, movable guide shoes. It also includes four counter-plates made of ferromagnetic metal.

Material properties and areas of application

Schlüter-REMA is suitable for creating access panels in tiled walls. If the openings are much larger than 30 x 30 cm, it may be helpful to use two additional magnets.

In special cases, the suitability of REMA must be verified based on the anticipated chemical, mechanical, and/or other stresses.
