General product information

Schlüter-DILEX-AS is a pre-fabricated two-part profile for the flexible connection of tiled surfaces to building fixtures, i.e. bathtubs and shower trays, as well as door and window frames.

The DILEX-AS profile is suitable for adjoining tile or natural stone coverings in thicknesses of 4 to 10 mm.

The trapezoid perforated, lateral anchoring leg of the DILEX-AS profile is firmly embedded below the tile covering. The bottom part of the tongue and groove connection, which features an adhesive foam strip, is adhered to the structural component so that the profile absorbs movements between the tile covering and the component.

The profile does not replace any waterproofing, but its two-part tongue and groove connection forms a water barrier - even with height displacement.

Required waterproofing must be installed prior to the installation of the profile. The DILEX-AS profile prevents sound bridges and reduces the transmission of impact sound. Accessories include matching end caps and internal corners.

  1. Thoroughly clean the contact area on adjoining fixtures where the profile will be positioned.
  2. Apply thin-bed mortar over the area where the trapezoid perforated anchoring leg will be placed using a notched trowel.
  3. Remove the silicone paper from the self-adhesive tape. Then attach the profile to the cleaned surface of the structural element with the self-adhesive strip in such a way that the trapezoid perforated anchoring leg can be firmly pressed into the fresh tile adhesive.
  4. Install necessary internal corners and end caps with silicone.
  5. Trowel additional adhesive over the perforated anchoring leg to ensure full coverage.
  6. Leave a joint of approx. 2 mm between the tile and the profile.
  7. Fill the joint completely with grout.

The DILEX-AS profile consists of a trapezoid perforated anchoring leg of PVC-U (rigid PVC) and a flexible connection lip made of PVC-P (soft PVC). The bottom part of the tongue and groove connection features an adhesive foam strip.

Material properties and areas of application

The profile is resistant to the chemical stresses commonly encountered with tiled coverings, and it is resistant to fungi and bacteria.

In special cases, verify the suitability of the DILEX-AS profile based on the anticipated chemical or mechanical stresses.

The DILEX-AS profile is installed at the perimeter of tiled surfaces as a flexible connection to fixed building elements such as bathtubs, shower trays, door and window frames, or kitchen countertops.

The DILEX-AS profile is designed to be resistant to fungi and bacteria and requires no special care or maintenance. It is simply cleaned while cleaning the tile covering. We recommend using commercially available household cleaners for this.
